Whether you’re just beginning your musical journey or you’ve been playing for years, there’s something unforgettable about performing in front of other people. It’s exciting, a little nerve-racking, and for many musicians, it’s one of the biggest steps they’ll ever take.

That’s why we’re excited to announce the first ever Nick & Tiff Music Open Mic Night!

More Than an Open Mic

When we started talking about hosting an Open Mic Night, we realized we wanted it to be about more than just performing.

We wanted to create a place where musicians can encourage one another.

A place where someone can play in front of an audience for the very first time without worrying about being judged.

A place where experienced performers and first-timers can share the same room, support one another, and celebrate a love of music.

That’s the atmosphere we hope to build at Nick & Tiff Music.

Everyone Starts Somewhere

If you’ve ever wanted to perform but kept putting it off because you were nervous, you’re not alone.

Almost every musician remembers that first performance. It’s a huge step, and it can be intimidating.

Our hope is that this Open Mic Night becomes a place where taking that first step feels a little easier.

Whether you play one song you’ve been practicing for months or you’ve been performing for years, we’d love to have you join us.

A Positive, Encouraging Environment

One thing is especially important to us.

We want every performer to leave feeling proud of themselves.

This won’t be a competition, and it won’t be a place for criticism or negativity.

Instead, we’re asking everyone who attends to help us create an audience that applauds every performer, encourages every musician, and remembers that every great performer had a first time playing in front of a crowd.

We believe that’s how a music community should feel.

Performer spots will be limited.

If you’d like to perform, simply send us a message on Facebook, stop by the store, or give us a call at 716-255-9837. We’ll be happy to answer any questions and get you signed up.

Performance Guidelines

To help make sure everyone has a chance to perform and the evening runs smoothly, we’re keeping it simple:

Solo performers or duos
One or two songs per performance (approximately 10 minutes)
Performer spots are limited
Please contact us in advance to reserve your spot

The Beginning of a New Tradition

Every performer at our Open Mic Night will receive an exclusive “I Performed at Nick & Tiff Music” sticker and will also get to select a sticker from our sticker bins to place on our Nick & Tiff Music Open Mic Stool.

Over time, we hope that stool becomes covered with stickers from musicians of all ages and experience levels—a visual reminder of every person who found the courage to stand up and share their music.

We Hope This Is Just the Beginning

We’re hoping Open Mic Night becomes a regular tradition at Nick & Tiff Music, but this first event will help us see what kind of interest there is in our community.
