New Beginner Group Guitar Lessons at Nick & Tiff Music

We’re excited to announce a brand-new option at Nick & Tiff Music: Beginner Group Guitar Lessons!

One of our goals has always been to make learning and playing music accessible to as many people as we can. Private one-on-one lessons are a great way to learn, and we’ll continue offering them, but we also understand that they aren’t always in everyone’s budget.

Our new group guitar lessons give beginners another option: 30 minutes of guitar instruction for just $20 per lesson, while keeping the groups small enough that every student can still receive plenty of attention.

And when we say small, we mean it.

Each group will be limited to just four students.

Beginner Guitar Lessons — No Experience Necessary

These groups are specifically designed for beginners.

You don’t need to know any chords. You don’t need to know how to read music. You don’t need to know anything about the guitar yet.

That’s the whole point.

Everyone in the group will be starting from the beginning and learning together.

Students will work on the fundamentals of playing guitar, including getting comfortable with the instrument, basic chords, chord changes, rhythm, strumming, simple songs and eventually playing together as a group.

Because everyone begins at roughly the same place, the group can progress together from week to week.

Only Four Students Per Group

One of the most important parts of these lessons is keeping the groups small.

We don’t want this to feel like sitting in the back of a large class trying to follow along.

By limiting each group to four students, our instructor can work with everyone together while still having the opportunity to see how each student is progressing, answer questions and provide individual help when someone needs it.

You get the fun and affordability of learning in a group without losing the personal attention that is so important when you’re first learning an instrument.

Youth and Teen/Adult Beginner Groups

We’re starting with two different Wednesday evening groups so students can learn alongside people closer to their own age.

Youth Beginner Guitar
Wednesdays from 6:00–6:30 PM

Teen & Adult Beginner Guitar
Wednesdays from 7:00–7:30 PM

Each lesson is $20 per student, and each group is limited to four students maximum.

These will be ongoing weekly lessons, allowing the same students to continue learning and progressing together.

A More Affordable Way to Learn Guitar

We love private lessons, and for students looking for completely individualized instruction, they remain a great option.

But not everyone needs to start there.

At $20 for a 30-minute lesson, our beginner groups offer a more affordable way to give guitar a try while still learning directly from an instructor in a very small group.

We think this can be especially helpful for parents whose child has expressed an interest in guitar but hasn’t tried lessons before. It’s also a great opportunity for adults who have spent years saying, “I’ve always wanted to learn guitar.”

Maybe now is the time to finally do it.

Learning Guitar Is More Fun Together

There’s also something pretty cool about learning an instrument alongside other people who are starting at exactly the same place.

Everyone struggles with that first awkward chord change.

Everyone has to build up their fingertips.

Everyone has that moment when they finally switch between two chords without stopping—or recognize that they’re actually playing a song.

In a group, you get to experience those little victories together.

And as everyone improves, students aren’t just learning how to play guitar. They’re also getting their first experience playing music with other people.

That’s something we think can make these lessons a lot of fun.

What Do I Need to Get Started?

You don’t need any previous musical experience to join our beginner group guitar lessons, but each student will need to bring their own guitar to every lesson.

Guitars will not be provided for use during the group lessons, so please make sure you have an instrument to bring with you.

If you don’t have a guitar yet, that’s okay! Stop into Nick & Tiff Music and we’d be happy to help you find an affordable beginner guitar that’s a good fit for you or your child.

Once you have your guitar, just bring it with you each Wednesday and come ready to learn!

Only Four Spots Available in Each Group

Because we want to keep these lessons small and personal, there are only four spots available in each beginner group.

Once a group is full, we can begin taking names for additional groups as interest grows.

If you or your child has been talking about learning guitar, this is a great opportunity to finally get started without the cost of private one-on-one instruction.
